Hard To Please
Almost every time I find an animation that I enjoy here on Newgrounds, a small majority of the reviews written for the particular project are negative. Why? Perhaps I am very much lacking a sense of humor or, more likely, everyone on Newgrounds would rather reserve a collective nasally chuckle for more retarded and poorly written animations. In watching this latest installment of S.A.M.V., I began to feel as if the nearly flawless animation and clever art design would soon be betrayed by an irrelevant and uninteresting storyline, much like 99% of the material that finds its way to the front page. Surprisingly enough, the story and the voice acting kept up with it all. This was definitely a shock to me, considering the fact that, every time I find an author who has excessive animating talents, the animation itself is always pissed on by a story chock full of video game references and talentless voice overs.
Also, I have read some complaints about your series' recent lack of humor. I think that the humor is definitely more controlled now, which is a good thing. It just means that you aren't throwing in jokes for the sake of throwing them in. In my opinion, the humor is much more relevant than in previous installments.
To anyone who may take the time to read this review, I know I may strike you as being overly preachy and close minded. I probably am.
